John Bean Company Named Exclusive Distributor of Pro-Cut Lathe

JBC to Market the CROS700 Computerized On-car Lathe

In a contract signed July 1, 1998, John Bean Company (JBC) will distribute the Pro-Cut model CROS700 computerized on-car brake lathe. The three year contract gives JBC the exclusive rights to sell the product in North America.

 

"JBC has an outstanding distribution channel for undercar products," said Pro-Cut's manager- national accounts, Bruce Prince, "they see many customers that we can't touch through our existing sales network."

 

"The Pro-Cut lathe has become synonymous with quality," said JBC worldwide product manager, Bill Fisher, "we at JBC feel it fits well with our current line of top grade undercar equipment."

The patented CROS (Computerized Run-Out System) 700 adds computer speed and precision to the acknowledged durability and versatility of Pro-Cut's standard hub-mounted on-car lathe. The result is a revolutionary on-car lathe with unprecedented speed and accuracy. An optical sensing device that measures any lateral run-out in the lathe and hub assembly. This data is processed by the computer which then directs the technician through a one screw adjustment procedure. The technician is given live feedback and a target as adjustments are made. A green light is displayed when lateral run-out is within specification. The CROS 700 simplifies the runout adjustment process thereby allowing any tech, regardless of experience or training, to machine and perfectly match any rotor in less than ten minutes.

 

Of Pro-Cut's other two models of on-car lathes, the manual VBG620 is distributed, non-exclusively, through Snap-on/Sun while the fully computerized PFM900 is sold directly through Pro-Cut channels. Pro-Cut is the only lathe approved by each of the Big 3 auto manufacturers.
